So, if a dealership tells you they have to do routine repairs and maintenance on your vehicle to keep your warranty intact, they are incorrect. However, one thing to keep in mind is if you are receiving any service or repair free of charge based on the warranty, then the dealer or manufacturer can require you to take your vehicle to a repair shop of their choice.
